Do you have fond memories of your visit to the Sydney Royal Easter Show? If so, the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW wants to hear from you.
In 2022, the company celebrations are bicentennial. To mark the occasion, it encourages spectators to recall and share their memories of the iconic event through its new heritage stories platform.
It could be a story of participating in one of the many show contests or an event, a joke about the wonders of exploring a show aisle.
Sydney Royal Easter Show and Agriculture chief executive Murray Wilton said SAR was keen to shoot stories from afar.
“We wanted to create a way for our community to share their memories of the Sydney Royal Easter Show and be part of the written history of SAR,” he said.
“An organization does not reach its bicentennial without the support of generations of members, staff, boards, exhibitors, artists, volunteers and spectators who champion the mission of SAR. So as we celebrate 200 years of entertaining, educating and engaging our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture, we want to honor the unique memories and stories of our supporters.
“From winning your first Championship Ribbon to saving all your spending money to buy your favorite showbag – stories are how we connect as a community, and we look forward to sharing, remembering and being inspired. by yours. “
