Scotts appoints RM Agricultural Engineering to support growth – Potato News Today
Scotts Precision Manufacturing Ltd has extended its distribution network with the appointment of a new sales and service agent to cover the West Midlands in the UK. The Boston-based manufacturer of vegetable harvesting and cleaning equipment officially named RM Agricultural Engineering Ltd this month, the company announced in a press release.
Based near Leominster, Herefordshire, RM Agri will offer Scotts full range of Trinity mowers, Microlift Pro fully mounted rakes and harvesters, Evolution separators and their latest Grimme GT170 rake conversion kits.
“We have worked with Rob and Marie Lloyd, the owners, for a number of years from their humble beginnings to what is now a thriving and specialist business supporting their local root growers, it is very important for us to work with like-minded people who have a clear focus on the root crop industry, Rob’s experience in the potato business is second to none and we feel privileged to work alongside companies of this caliber,” said Derek Scott, Scotts Managing Director.
“We already have a large number of Evolution separators and toppers in this area. With demand growing, we are looking to build a long term future with Rob and his team. »
RM Agricultural Engineering Ltd was started in 2013 by Rob and Marie. With 20 years working as an engineer in the potato machinery business and with a young family around him, the timing was right.
2021 was a major milestone for the company becoming Dewulf’s official partnership with AgVantage UK Ltd for the West Midlands and Herefordshire. With Dewulf now owning the well-known Miedema brand, the experience of their product range has fitted perfectly into RM Agri’s business.
Scotts has always been the benchmark for vegetable cleaning systems with the Evolution Separator. Without a doubt, the Trinity range of 2, 3, 4 and 6 row defoliators are already regarded by far as the best on the market and we look forward to promoting their brand. All Scotts products are designed and manufactured at their brand new factory in Lincolnshire. Supporting a genuinely British product has some merit about it which we know our customers will also find appealing.
The Scotts mattress topper range now includes seven models
The Trinity 22B two-row mower is available separately or in combination with the folding rear unit, the Trinity 6000 (to provide a 6-row folding front/rear system), our best-selling model to date. This is complemented by the Trinity 30B, which has a cutting width of 300cm, capable of handling three rows of 90cm or four of 75cm. Four more models have recently been added to the lineup to include the more affordable Trinity 54B fixed 6-row with end tow, rear-mounted Trinity 54F 6-row folding and twin-rotor Trinity 36B fixed 4-row .
The appointment of RM Agri follows a recent announcement that Scotts is now working closely with Vegcraft near Forfar in Scotland and with Yorkshire & Humber to provide service and support to customers in these 2 counties.
